Mr Vicente Alegre Tomás founds Industrias Alegre.

Vicente Alegre founds Talleres Almar, dedicated to tool and die making and moulding works for plastic parts.

Later on, and under the name of Talleres Alegre, the company locates in Patraix and continues its growth as a tooling sector specialist.

Workshop and Valeplast.

The tooling works give way to the creation of its own brand product, Valeplast, a hardware and component brand with which a new stage starts, not only thinking about the manufacture of moulds but also about the production of its own plastic parts.

The manufacture of plastic injection parts begins.

The manufacture of the Valeplast brand is launched, which in 1966 already employed some 50 people, and filled up the Valencia homes with toolboxes, sewing boxes and different plastic parts.

The international aspirations of the company’s founder are present right from the start, with trips to the United States where he gets contracts to manufacture the lids on Avon cosmetics.

With Seat the production of automotive components begins.

The company becomes Industrias Alegre S.A. located in Albal, where it specialises in plastic, with special mastery in mould construction, which would give rise to higher quality and lower cost parts.

The company’s international presence arrived at the end of the 60’s after reaching agreements with the main automobile companies, manufacturing parts for Seat and for the Simca factory in Villaverde.

The relationship with Ford begins.

In 1980 the supply of interior panels for the Fiesta begins and, in this same decade, Citroën, General Motors, Seat and IBM become clients, and Alegre starts to specialise in industrial plastic for automobiles.

The Ford Escort, whose assembly starts in Almussafes in 1981, means another great leap for Alegre, which starts to massively export its parts to the European factories that also assemble this model.

Q1 (Ford’s maximum quality)

The Q1 Certificate is the highest distinction that Ford awards to its suppliers and means acknowledgement of the quality parameters established by the brand for those who manufacture the components that they fit in their vehicles.

To be deserving of the Q1 Award, one has to pass Ford’s Quality Operating System (QOS) Evaluation process. The evaluation includes criteria covering communication, team work, administrative reviews, measurable parameters, quantification tools, continuous improvement and dynamic processes.

A total supplier with international recognition.

Alegre manages to become a total supplier that can work any part from the blank sheet of paper to factory delivery, which Ford calls a “Full Service Supplier”. The quality of the provided parts leads Ford to grant the company their prestigious Silver Award World Excellence in 2005.

The success with the Fiesta means that Industrias Alegre gets important parts orders for the current Ford Mondeo. It also makes parts for the Ford Focus, for the previous model as well as the current one, the Kuga, the C-Max and, to sum up, the brand’s whole range of models.

Globalisation begins.

Greater presence as a supplier requires being near the client’s factory, so Industrias Alegre set out its internationalisation plan. Along with another sector supplier it creates Silesia Plastics in Poland, which is given the Ford Fiesta 2008 contract. The Albal plant designs the entire engineering and gets started on the project to supply a good number of parts to the plants in Cologne and Almussafes.

In 2010 Alegre Branch Romania is set up with a Romanian partner in order to supply interior parts for the new B-Max.

Remodelling of the Albal facilities in Valencia completed

Alegre totally remodelled its factory during 2009, with a three million Euro investment that allowed it to reduce costs, improve quality and introduce new gas, bi-injection and back moulding air injection systems.
